Spicy Lime Roasted Jicama Sticks

Jicama has a mild sweet flavor and a wonderful crunch, even when roasted. It pairs well with other flavors like hot sauce, chili powder, lime zest or rosemary. Have some fun with this versatile side dish!

Serves 5

1 pound Jicama, fresh, peeled, and cut into sticks

1 Tablespoon plus 2 teaspoons olive oil

1/4 teaspoons Black pepper, ground

2 ½ teaspoons Parsley, flat leaf, chopped (optional)

1 ½ teaspoons Lime Zest (optional)

1/3 teaspoon Hot Sauce (optional)

  1. Heat oven to 400°F.
  2. Toss jicama in a bowl with the olive oil, salt and pepper. Pour them on a sheet pan in an even layer (do not overcrowd) and roast for 15 to 20 minutes, until tender on the inside. Shake the pan from time to time to brown the jicama evenly.
  3. Remove jicama from the oven and toss with parsley, lime zest and hot sauce, if desired.
